Peter Markes (pronounced Marcus) is an award-winning music educator and performer based out of Oklahoma City. In 2014 he was selected from over 45,000 educators as the Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year, and he now teaches on full-time faculty at Oklahoma City University as the head of the music education program.

As a performer, audiences are drawn in by his one-man band live-looping violin and guitar performances. He is also a member of the band, Kyle Dillingham & Horseshoe Road and has performed on the Grand Ole Opry and in over thirty countries on five continents. Peter has written and released numerous songs in the folk-pop genre, and his debut solo album, I Have A Dream, can be heard digitally worldwide.

The owner of his own business and publishing company, Songs To ReJoyce Publishing, Peter continues to maintain an active teaching and performing schedule. He lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, Kris, and their two sons.
